Visiting CrossPointe

Joshua and I packed our bags and hit the road to visit a new supporting church, CrossPointe. We were greeted warmly and truly enjoyed our time with these new friends and partners. The pastor, Brad Evangelista preached one of those sermons - you know the ones, where everybody else could have gone home because it was just me to whom he was preaching. If you are a sermion junkie like me, you will want to go to the church's website and hear from Brad. Joshua said that Brad was the most intense preacher he had ever seen in person. Brad said he gets that a lot. I was given a few minutes to share our vision for ministry during the worship service. I went totally off script and caught myself saying lots of "ums" and "wells," but Joshua said that it was the best presentation I've done so far. I think he was just being kind. What a good kid! Many people spoke words of encouragement, for which I am very appreciative. Even though we had not visited this church before, we did see some familiar faces from our time in Columbus. Joshua and I were treated to lunch with the Mullins and Evangelista families. It was enjoyable to sit and talk with them in a relaxed environment. As I watched the Evangelistas do their best to engage in conversation and manage their young children, it made me smile as it reminded me of my family not very long ago. I think they pulled it off better than we did, however. Still, it made me appreciate all that Susan does for our family. Once again, Joshua connected with some kids (the Evangelista children). God has continued to bless him in that way and he has needed it so much.
